Food Labels: better to show how much exercise is needed to burn the calories you consume?

We always say that in the labeled food we can find valuable information for the consumer, however, apparently when you say how many calories brings particular food impacts not control their consumption, however, a recent study shows that it better to show how much exercise is needed to burn the calories you consume a food.

The caption: “30 minutes is equivalent to running” shown in gingerbread, would be more effective in promoting consumer habits show calories providing nutrition and other data in the labeled. Here are the results of a recent study of soft drinks in which the equivalent information displayed on how much exercise do, produced a reduction in consumption in adolescents.

It is believed that the information shown in this way is easier to understand and therefore would impact more on consumers.

However, this way to show a food calories equivalent to how much exercise we do to burn it, can be counterproductive with respect to the performance of physical activdiad, because we may need to burn a soda run 20 minutes, something that looks a lot and if it may reduce soft drink consumption also can discourage a move.

On the other hand, this new form of labeling would be limiting the benefits of exercise to calories burned, when in fact, physical activity offers many health advantages over we burn calories to move.

So, thus raising the nutritional information food, personally, I do not quite correct. It can lead to rejected in the exercise and at the same time, the information is not entirely appropriate, since not all spend the same amount of calories and also a healthy but calorie food, would also be a bad way if we have to run 1 hour to burn it, forgetting that it is healthy nutrients for the body.

While a preliminary idea and perhaps a lot to iron out in this project, for now I see the idea entirely appropriate to modify the food labeling standing there how much exercise you need to do to burn the calories of the product consumed before.
